Last day of the Pirate Grudge Match

Today ends the pirate grudge match. Chris had challenged me until the last day of the year. It has been a lot of fun and I thank Chris for the challenge.

The good news is I will continue the pirate a day blog. It has been too much fun to stop. I will be posting one pirate a day monday through friday.

My daughter challenged me to a ginger bread house bake off.
I had to pick a theme, I chose a pirate. Here is what I put together.

We have a new player on the field. My high school friend and one time writing partner has decided to join the fray. Whalehead King is now living in New Orleans and is the keeper of his own blog. Below is Whalehead King's first submitted pirate.

My friend Whalehead sent us a photo of himself wearing a tricorner hat, pipe and hoop earring. When he lived in Massachusetts the tricorner hat was associated with the minutemen.  But now he lives in New Orleans and was told that hat is associated with pirates. So he sent us the photo for inspiration and a plug for his blog. The following sketches are based on the sent photo.
